The friendship between Sandro Đukić and Tomislav Gotovac aka Antonio Lauer (an important figure in the development of the artistic avant-garde in Europe during the 1960s and 1970s) began in Zagreb in the mid-1980s. The two artists of different ages, but identical mindsets and worldviews soon became part of the same art scene and exhibited together several times. Starting from the idea of making a total portrait of his friend, Đukić created a photo session that turned into Gotovac's performance. In Radnička Gallery Đukić confronted a set of uncompromising portraits of the aged Gotovac with traditional female nudes. This concept evoked Gotovac's strategy to challenge the cult of beauty and a male's gaze by parodying them.
