Leila is a Creative practitioner with MA diplomas in Art history, Archaeology, and Cultural studies. She started her professional path as an Art historian and Curator at the Mimara Museum and Radnička Gallery in Zagreb, Croatia. Moving from the role of the Curator as a caretaker and interpreter of other artists’ works, she continued her practice through community-focused arts projects exploring the subjects relating to transcultural identities, cultural hybridity, migration, exile, feminism, and object-relational analysis.
After using a museum and gallery as places of cultural dialogues where art objects were serving as tools for creative expressions for local communities, she is extending her creative practice beyond the scope of an art institution and the materiality of an object.
"With her curious and thorough work, Leila is consistently bringing innovative aspects to themes that continue to pervade our culture and our cognitive environment." Nika Pavlinek, Leila's long term fellow worker.
